• Grandmaster Flash Live at The Venue Tramore

    Legendary Bronx, New York DJ, Grandmaster Flash is hitting the South East this coming December 8th where he will be performing at The Venue in Tramore.

    After forming such groups as Grandmaster Flash & The 3 MC’s with the likes of Melle Mel and Kid Creole which later spawned Grandmaster Flash & The Furious Five. Grandmaster Flash has been behind some of the earliest HipHop hits and anthems such as The Message, Freedom and White Lines,and has been ever heavily present in the genre ever since.

    HipHop heads, music lovers and DJ enthusiasts alike are all in agreement when it comes to the sheer quality that this man delivers on every occasion since his beginnings back in the 70s. Accredited with the invention of the crossfader and multiple turntable styles, he will always be up there with the founding fathers of the genre of HipHop. Respected on all levels by turntablists of all genres and mixing just about anything in his own style, he is as well respected for birthing the turntable as an instrument as he is for his mesmerising ability to control and move a crowd.

    Grandmaster Flash plays The Venue, Tramore on Saturday 8th December. Support on the night comes from Tom Dunne(Phat Beats) of Sons Phonetic, Jay Ru(City Vibes) and Jus Me(Hobo Convention).

    Dave Treacy’s WeLoveBeats show every Saturday has now been changed to the new time of 18.00 – 20.00 GMT.

    Dave Treacy is a natural entertainer and has been DJing for over thirteen years. His love for music started at the age of six and not long after, Dave discovered his love of entertaining others with Music. Making ‘mixtapes’ by recording songs from radio and hosting school discos at thirteen has now developed into Dave’s successful DJ career.

    Recognised by Industry professionals in the USA and Europe for his mixing talent and showmanship, Dave has played at clubs and events in the UK, USA, Ayia Napa, Cyprus, Ibiza and Spain as well as some of the top night clubs in Ireland including: RedBox (Tripod), Pod, Lillies Bordello, Tivoli, Velvet, Traffic, AKA (Wilde).

    Whilst Dave has performed at many clubs and events, he has also played alongside some of the world’s finest DJ’s including: Kevin Saunderson, DJ Lottie, Smokin Joe, Joe T Vanelli, Tim Deluxe and many more.

    Being involved on the Irish club scene has also lead Dave to getting involved in radio with guest appearances on RTE 2FM and FM104 and hosting a drive-time show on Dublin’s Nova 94.7 FM from 2002 – 2005.     Although only it’s 2nd year, the awards are already gaining a snowball effect moving up in size substantially from its launch last year and aim to continue in their growth in the future. It is also great to see such an awards event in place for the now colossal industry that is urban music in Ireland.
